Eric was developing a Ruby on Rails site for a school project and needed a place to test out his scripts and found what seemed like the place at RailsPlayground.com (I hope they didn’t mind him using their server as a development environment 
)
After 3 months all is well and Eric is still with them. If you’re looking for a Ruby specific environment, this is the place to go apparently.
On the one or two times I’ve emailed support (questions, not problems) I received responses very quickly, minutes not hours. I also like that they have a wiki and a forum for helping you set up various common features and without that I would have been lost…especially with setting up multiple rails apps.
Anyway, I would definitely give this host two thumbs up, they have been nothing but great to me and I will continue to use them. I use them for ruby on rails and php sites and everything works great.
