Vivian's Review - Rated: 4/5 Jan. 26th, 2009

Midphase has good customer service and cheap prices. There are a couple of issues, however. They sometimes make changes without telling you, the customer, and sometimes those changes cause the site to break. Another thing you should watch out for is to make sure not to buy both your domain AND hosting from them; just buy the hosting, or else you run the risk of them owning your domain name.

I have been hosting with An hosting / Midphase for almost 5 months. I am really disappointed with service quality. Here is my honest review:

My Background

* Four years hosting experience with other hosting companies
* 9 years experience as consultant in IT
* I have almost 200 websites and have 3-8 employees working for my websites in the last 6 months.
* I generally keep the websites in shared hosting accounts to minimize downtime.

Account:

I signed up for cheap hosting around thanksgiving time last year. It is something like 4.95 or 5.95 USD per month. I have 40 subaccounts (domains) an huge amount of disk and bandwidth. I just use 2-3% of available resources (disk and bandwidth).

Review

I am very disappointed with the service at midphase. Here are the details:

Technical Support:

First two months were fine. Once midphase was acquired by another hosting firm located ...

Paul-M's Review - From: www.webhostingtalk.com Jun. 2nd, 2007

Hello!

I've been with MidPhase/Anhosting for about 4 months now, and have decided it is time to write a review.
Lets split it into categories....

The signup was generally easy, I registered a free domain, entered a coupon I had found, and done.
Next, I recieve an email saying to check for fraud, they must call me, so I click the link provided. What do you know? I don't get a phone call....
So I call them up, and after 20 or so minutes on hold, I talk to support, and we fixed that up.
So now my account has been activated, and I have recieved my login details...
Now, I check how much they charged, and apparently the coupon went poof....
I call them up again, and they say it will be credited to my cc/paypal/I forgot what it was....
So finally I get the coupon value, and I am all set.

Performance

Not much to say here. They oversell l...

Here is my next review of the hosts I've dealt with lately. This one is for midphase.com, but also for anhosting.com, where I signed up. The site that is hosted there is newprowebdesign.com if anyone needs to confirm this. I have retained the domain name there until they unlock it for me to transfer.

My old host was getting a bit more pricey then I would like, and since I didn't make money on my sites, I needed to find cheaper hosting. So I looked around and came to anhosting.com. There was a good coupon available, so I started checking it out.

I called support early in the morning, since that is usually when I do my web work. Response was pretty fast, although the guy seemed very young and it seemed like maybe he was eating and talking to others during our call. But hey, it was an overnight shift, and I can't really blame him.

Anyways, he was pretty smart regardless of habits. So after checking out some more th...

A1SiteNames.com's Review - From: www.webhostingtalk.com Jul. 8th, 2006

I have been on MidPhase's Pro plan for a few years now, and I highly recommend it - unlimited domains and unlimited bandwidth are great. I just keep adding new sites, and never need to worry about hitting any limits.

When I first opened an account with them, they were a lot smaller and the support wasn't great, in fact they seemed quite unprofessional - I was considering leaving. But over the years they've continued to expand and everything has definitely improved 1000% - their support is now good, and the reliability is near-perfect. Couldn't ask for anything more! Glad I didn't leave them in the past, as finding a good host can be difficult (I've had heaps of bad hosts over the years) so I'm glad I've got my MidPhase account.

midphase.com

Ok to start this off I suppose you'll need some background information.

Back on Feb 4th, 2003 (oddly 3 years to this day) I joined up with ANHosting.com. It was truely one of the best webhosting experiences I ever had out of the many previous that I've delt with.

I originally joined up with the mega-plan which had 500 meg space, 60 gig bw, unlimited subdomains and 5 sql and ftp accounts, with a load of other stuff.

It was as I allready said the smoothest running service I've used.

A while later as some of you might know about Midphase merged with Anhosting, and I was initially scared. But it turns out that they did the impossible, they managed to get even better. Now with midphase they upgraded my account to an additional 1,000 meg space to balance out my account with the similar plans.

I never once had a issue of down time or anything from the merge other then the need to...
