Amy-T's Review - From: www.webhostingtalk.com Jan. 22nd, 2009

I stated hosting with them back in the first part of October when hostsimplex closed shop on me.

hostpc is an interesting host they do have a very powerful server which is able to run my site with very few issues or complaints which is good so will say they have great service and do have me impressed by the servers them selves. Even the load which I look at from time to time has not been above 1 every time I look at it its been 0.some thing but it is possible it has gone above that when I have not looked at it.

I only had 2 or 3 times when the site was down. One time it was down for over 6 hours do to a router failure which they did post on thier own site that customers would be given a credit. So after seeing tht I replied to the ticket about the outage and asked about the credit. and was given a fairly rude reply and told to wait until they update the news post about it. So I kept an eye on the news post for several days and gave up after about 2 or 3 weeks of...

Amy-T's Review - From: www.webhostingtalk.com Oct. 16th, 2008

I got hostpc after hostsimplex.com closed down.
They have been very helpful in getting my site back up and running. I had a few issues like unable to get the back up of my sql to restore so I uploaded the back up and they restored that for me. Nice guys.

An interesting issue came up which required me to have a symbolic link well could have gone with out it but would have made it so one of my sites was down for a few more days. Basically the symbolic link allows 2 sites I run to have the same games with out taking up any more space on the server. Actually this was hostsimplex's idea and they created the link. How ever I could not restore that link or figure out how it was made to after opening a ticket with hostpc I got one made.

But not right away cuz I was first told it would not work, which had me kind of puzzled so I told them hostsimplex had that file so I know it works just I am not sure how they did it. Any way they did get a symblolic linke, 2...

Senad's Review - From: www.webhostingtalk.com Jan. 14th, 2008

I had a HostPC account a while back and never had issues but they truly seem to have gone to the pits in that I will never even think about hosting with them again.

I originally signed up with HostPC for a reseller hosting account with spam filtering. Upon not being able to get my account for several days since they were moving (and I needed an account made sooner rather than later). There was also multiple issues with account logins not working or being created properly (I thought to myself...this isn't the same HostPC that I know). I had so many issues with the passwords not working and me being able to log in that I cancelled and they gave me a refund. I thought great wonderful still responsive and the same old HostPC. However it wasn't the end of the story. 15 days prior to my next billing period I got an e-mail form HostPC that my account would be billed $2.50 for the spam service (which I cancelled). I quickly forwarded the e-mail to sales, support, and bi...

zhangla's Review - From: www.webhostingtalk.com Oct. 29th, 2007

I have been with them for quite some time, about 3 years with various different contracts. I am the casual blogger or gaming site admin, mainly for a group of friends, etc.

I have witnessed the peak of HOSTPC, where Joe himself would be able to answer and fix issues even at Saturday night, with the already very stable servers, I did not get more than 3 downtimes for about 1.5 years.

However, recently, I am seeing 5 or even more down times for my site within 5 days. Every time, it took them a couple hours or even more to fix the problem. And what is worse, a few hours after the problem was fixed, my site was down again...

So, I really have to voice my concern here, to new or existing customers for HOSTPC, that be cautious about the service you are to get, because this is no longer the old good HOSTPC anymore.

Compared to GoDaddy (I happen to have another hosting ...

Hi, I don't spend a lot of time on this site because I am very happy with my host, HostPC.com (Yareo). I was recently thinking about how long I have been with them and where I first found out about them and it was here at WebHosting talk.

Here is a link to the initial thread I posted in, and subsequently was accused of being a "fake" testimonial:

(I can't post links so copy and paste or search for my username)

It has been four (4) years since I first signed up with HostPC and I am still a customer. Overall I have very little if anything to complain about. I have been able to witness the growth and expansion of the business from a customer viewpoint. I have seen the struggles and successes and everything has been to the benefit of HostPC customers.

There have been my times of doubts, and some frustrations here and there. Some caused by my own boneheaded ig...

badalon's Review - From: www.webhostingtalk.com May. 4th, 2007

hostpc is not bad as long your site is online, but you can find it offline without any warning. So you must check regulary to see if they have suspend it for some reason. And they use some super sophisticated software called DirectAdmin, that not only suspend your troubled site but also all other addon domains which can be unlimited. So I you run some serious online business find some hoster that don't use excuse for security to stop you instead of spammer or hacker.

Other issues: Webalizer without "usage by country", so they are saving 1% cpu power, and you need some other statistic software. Then there are strange mysql issues, no connection, and on next page refresh everything is ok, ticket never resolved. Pretty arrogant answers.

webhappy's Review - From: www.webhostingtalk.com Apr. 14th, 2004

I have been with HostPC for almost 3 months now.

I bought the $25/yr plan and I think it is a great deal. I can host up to 3 domains and get PHP, MySQL DB's, 6 GB/month, and 250 MB.

I've only seen the site go down for around 90 minutes so far, and I believe the owner posted the downtime status in the forums.

For the price, I am very happy with the service I have received.

Of course, there were a couple problems. The account set-up info didn't arrive to me so I had to email them to forward it to me (I think their automated software had a bug). Also, they initially set it to only 2 domains hosted (I emailed them about this issue so the automated system should be updated now).

There's no SSH, but I find the DirectAdmin CP does everything I need.

I would recommend this service for other budget customers.
